There's not much to say about our anniversary that hasn't already been said, so I'll skip the mushiness. I'm just glad to be where I am, and I'm glad to report that I am even happier than I could have imagine five years ago.
Though we already had a pretty great celebration this year, it worked out that Jeremy and I were able to slip off to Atlanta on Friday to attend a Braves game...one of our favorite things to do together. It was an important weekend for the Braves, as they retired the jersey of longtime manager Bobby Cox and hosted many of the team's alumni from the past few decades.
Jeremy and I both grew up watching the Braves from early ages. We often mention our favorite players from years past and often say, "Remember the time....[insert some baseball event from many years ago]". It's fun to share that with J, and it was awesome to see some of our childhood favorites this weekend.
David Justice--a childhood favorite for a lot of people I know.
The alumni coming in for the ceremony.
The man of the hour--Bobby Cox. He is notorious for avoiding any kind of pomp & circumstance focusing on him...so it was fun to hear him speak, and he kept it short and sweet!
Dan Uggla hitting a home run to continue his hitting streak (which sadly ended with Sunday's game). This guy has the best arms (and butt...ha!) in baseball. Seriously...google his pictures!
Sigh...I love Turner Field.
We spent the night outside Atlanta and went shopping at an outlet mall on Saturday. I didn't find any outstanding bargains, but I did pick up a few things for the girls (and me!) for fall. After a late and leisurely lunch, we were ready to get home to our favorite toddlers...who were very pleased with the new nightgowns we brought them (we are ALL ABOUT pajamas right now):
I really can't wait until they're old enough to go enjoy the Braves game with us.
Oh my hubby would be SO jealous! He is a HUGE Braves fan! So glad you had a fun getaway! (My hubby and I have been away from the girls separately, but we haven't taken a vaca together yet! We were ok with leaving knowing the other one was taking care of the girls, but we really need to get up the courage to leave them with someone else and getaway together!) How's the new diet plan going? I started Couch to 5k a few days ago... hopefully it will help my eating habits! You got me motivated ;) THX!
